DIY garter

to be honest, i have yet to find a garter that i like for my wedding day. no offense to anyone who likes the ones out there in stores or online, but to me they are cheesy, cheap, or just ugly. so i wanted to make my own, SIMPLE, version.

i bought some adorable lace on sale at hobby lobby

 
i also picked up some ribbon that matches my wedding colors

 
i did  a stitch right down the center

 
and there you have it... a garter (that i don't hate)

 
** i will note i tried to make it with elastic, but since i didn't have elastic thread, it was a failure. i also had to make the garter to fit my thigh rather than a standard side, but i can tie the bow tighter or looser depending on where i wear it on my leg. **
