my name is taylor and i am addicted to etsy
whew, that feels good to get that off my chest.
well now that i have taken the first step, it is time for me to show you why i love it so much...
I ordered custom cookie cutters from Forbes Farm Destash
i picked out some blue ball jar tags from Modern Scrapyard
I also snagged a couple of items for the wedding, including this hairclip from Bethany Lorelle. for the record, if you ever want to buy my a surprise gift, i would take ANY and EVERY item from this shop. so wonderful.
THE most adorable bowtie and suspenders from JB Kids
derek took me thrift shopping (i know, what a catch right?!) and in my hunt for pyrex i stumbled upon THE. BEST. JUICER. EVER!
there i said it. i am spoiled by some of the amazing people in my life.
i've talked about it before, but derek's mom spoils us with goodies every time we go to visit her. look what we came home from our latest trip to his hometown:
i also have a co-worker who gave me two little lanterns from her recent wedding because she knew i could put them to use. sure enough they found the perfect home on my beach shelf!
i am so excited about my latest thrifting haul!! i have made a new friend who owns an amazing thrift store in my town... gina at Gina's Junk
she keeps up with her blog and facebook with all the latest things she brings in her shop and i am hooked. here's what i came home with last week:
(and of course my "partner" had to inspect the latest purchase)
i've had a few random trips to the thrift stores lately -- mostly scouring for wedding decor -- but in the process i have found a few other things to use around the house.
(i actually already traded the tan woodland pyrex bowl)
but of course i found some pyrex
i found another blue jar (even though it isn't an official blue ball)
a new thing for me is every time i visit a thrift or second-hand store i HAVE to check out the books. and i really lucked out again!
for a while i have been looking for what i call a 1950's style accordian hat rack. and i know i've seen 100 at thrift stores, but just as i started really looking for one, i couldn't find it. then one day i get the following text from my sweet friend mackenzie...
derek and i are using blue ball jars to decorate the tables at our wedding (there, i told you a wedding "secret") so every time we go thrifting we keep out eyes peeled for decently priced jars.
then on our way home from a trip to tennessee, derek and i stopped at a thrift store on the side of the road. there, we found:
who doesn't love the beach? exactly... no one! so i wanted to bring a little beachiness into my home. i have a tendency to go a little overboard (pun intended) with themes... so i thought i would designate one spot as my "nautical space"
it started with these cute little picture frames from goodwill... four for a dollar!
above that i hung a shelf i found at a thrift shop. i gave it a rough coat of spray paint (to make it look more beachy)
on top of that i added some shells, a mini beach scrapbook and my crabby frame i made a while back.
now i can have a small getaway in the corner of my room.
its no secret i collect pyrex. and its also no secret that this collection takes up more space than say baseball cards or coins. so it was time for a little de-cluttering and re-organizing.
for the green pieces i have decided to keep (the others are all up for trade on my flickr page)
